"Hey Jive Kings, Mike and Jon, especially, I saw you guys last night. I was in the very front row and I was with Lisa Gillan, Lisa Mowry, Isabel MacDougall, Natalie Curran and Lana Power. Do you guys remember us ? I think you do cause we were being really loud. Anyway,  I love the band and I know all the words to the songs on the CD. I love it,   and I hope you guys can get a TUBA SOLO in one of your songs. You know what I'm talking about Mike."

"Hello. I witnessed the Jive Kings in Halifax this past Saturday night, and I must say they kick ass !!! They played a huge variety of cover songs, and one by Colin James who is my idol.... they seem to know their stuff. They put on an excellent show, and the horns can sure rock. The lead singer is fantastic and is amazing on the piano. I bought the CD and I recommend it to any fan of jive and big band music !!!!! Excellent show boys."

"Hi guys. Enjoy your music so much couldn't bear to be with out it when we went on vacation to Florida so we took the CD. Played it on a friend's sail boat and his comment was that's the best music that has ever been on board. He was able to convince us to leave it with him. No doubt he is swinging to the Jive Kings in the Caribbean. Last week our daugter and some friends lip-synched at Montague Intermediate to ‘At The Mack' and got first place. SWING ON."

"I have danced at several of your live gigs and have listened to your CD until my family has almost gone through the roof. I love you guys... not just because you're the coolest cats around... but because you have brought swing music to PEI in a personal way for Islanders. They are now able to relate to all the rest of those lucky people who are rediscovering this wonderful music. Thank you so much for this. Also, congrats on winning the ECMA... you really deserve it. Just keep on having those swingin' dances !!!"

"I’ve just listened 4 or 5 times to Spoon for a Knife--what a swinging CD! It is really good--and not just "for local talent." The playing is remarkably tight (amazingly, actually), the vocals are really confident (not really a "vernacular" singing style for Islanders!), and the whole she-bang has a very "professional" feel. It reminds me a lot of Joe Jackson's Jump & Jive from about 10 years ago--and not far off a Colin James album backed up by the Roomful of Blues horns: good stuff! I hope you guys will be playing when we're on the Island this summer. We may actually make it to the Island twice this year--our traditional August visit but also a visit in late June or early July for the launch of my book of poems What Really Matters, which will be published next month by McGill-Queen's University Press (the Hugh MacLennan Poetry Series). The Institute of Island Studies is sponsoring the launch--a "grand" event! Cheers!"

"I am on your "mailing list" which keeps us fans updated on your whereabouts and activities, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to reply and say congratulations on your big win at the ECMA's. Too bad those of us at home in front of our t.v.'s couldn't see you receive your award (except for the quickie shot), but I'm very happy for you. I saw the Jive Kings perform at the MacKenzie Theatre a few months ago, and my husband gave me your CD for Christmas. I'm hooked! Keep up the great work.

"Hello. I would like to congratulate the Jive Kings on their award for "Top Jazz Album". I think it's excellent how you combine swing and latin together in your album. It gives a variety of styles. I love to play along with it, especially Copacabana, because it's a samba style. I have seen you perform on several occasions, and I must say... live... you are excellent! Keep up the great music and good luck in the future !"

"I've been to hear the Jive Kings on many occasions and they've kept me swing dancing. I'm a trumpet player and I take lessons from Mark, their lead trumpet, and I have to say that the sound and energy, as well as the warmth the band plays with to the people at the performance, is very good and keeps us all happy. I just have to say to all of the people who have the CD and haven't heard them live... try to hear them sometime. They sound 3.5362 times better in person. To everyone that has heard them in person...learn how to swing dance..it makes it alot more fun."

Congratulations on the ECMA nomination. We'll be watching that in February. It's nice to see you have several gigs lined up too. Happy New Year - take care."

"I happened to meet and to play drums with these wonderful musicians. In fact, I consider Alan Dowling (Jive Kings drummer) as my great drum-Jazz influence. Now that I am living in Edmonton, Alberta I have no doubt that this band will go very far. This fine music production is worthy not only to listen to, but also to study. I wish them the best and hope we can get together soon."
